IGC Participates In California Fair Share Contributions Committee

The Interactive Gaming Council has joined with other leaders in the California Gaming Industry to open a dialogue and help develop ways in which to support the work of the California Council on Problem Gambling.
The first meeting of the Committee was held September 27, 2001 at the offices of the California State Lottery. Participants in the meeting included: Tom Tucker CCGC, Executive Director California Council on Problem Gambling; Al Le Bas, Consultant California Council on Problem Gambling; John Hensley, Chairman California Gambling Control Commission; Pete Melnicoe, Chief Legal Counsel California Gambling Control Commission; Hal Barker, Vice Chairman California Lottery Commission; Jacob Coin, Executive Director California Nations Indian Gaming Association; Joan Wilson, Director California State Lottery; Vince Montane PhD, Director of Communications California State Lottery; Marc Weiswasser, Designate, for Tony Lewin, Executive Director Casino Management Association; Dan McKinzey, Account General Manager GTECH Corporation; Tim Barden, Simulcast Coordinator Hollywood Park Racetrack; Rick Baedezker, President Hollywood Park Racetrack; and Mark Stone, Secretary IGC. Since this was the initial meeting of the Committee, much of the discussion focused on the representatives and their respective organizations background, awareness of the problem gambling issues and current efforts to help.
Future meetings have been scheduled on a monthly basis with the purpose to develop more specific plans on how each segment of the gaming industry might help and contribute to the work of the California Council on Problem Gambling.
